This year's theme

Each year has a different theme and this year the theme will be Endangered Species of the World. We’d like to encourage children to think about all those animals that need our extra protection – like orangutans, tigers, rhinos, elephants, to name a few.

This year’s endangered species theme is supported by a host of environmental organisations and individuals including National Geographic Kids, the Environmental Investigation Agency, Earthwatch, and Steve Backnall, explorer and naturalist. 

We’ve also developed free downloadable educational resources covering Key Stages 1 – 4 which further explore the endangered species theme.
