This year the Young Pavement Artists Competition is supported by Glaxo Smith Kline and a number of leading artists, environmental and media organisations.
Art duo Olly & Suzi have travelled the world capturing the story and beauty of endangered species in their natural habitat. They have kindly donated one of their fantastic artworks featuring the endangered leatherback turtles and are judges of the national competition. Find out more.
British artist, Supermundane, aka Rob Lowe, is a multi-disciplined artist, illustrator and art director. His work has been exhibited worldwide and he is currently the creative director of the kid’s magazine, Anorak. He created a giant chalk drawing to help launch the competition at the Natural History Museum.
Anorak magazine is the happy magazine for kids. Published four times a year, it is all about fun, fashion, exciting new stories and good stuff to buy. Anorak will be featuring the competition and encouraging children all over the UK to take part – the national winner of the competition will receive free magazines for a year.
National Geographic Kids is a colourful monthly magazine for curious kids and every month there are factsheets about the endangered species of the world. National Geographic Kids gets children excited about the natural world around them. The kind people at National Geographic Kids will be giving a year's free subscription to the winner of the competition and will create a giant poster of the winning drawing.
Earthwatch is an international environmental charity dedicated to creating a sustainable environment. It organises family expeditions to see endangered species in their natural habitat. The winner of the national competition will win a fabulous Earthwatch trip to Canada to watch the migration of grey whales. Find out more about Earthwatch.
