The Muscular Dystrophy's Young Pavement Artist Competition is taking a break in 2011. In this time we will be reviewing the competition to ensure it is as fresh and relevant to all young people whilst raising awareness and valuable funds for people living with muscle disease.
Keep an eye out however for more news later in the year.
Past entry information:
The competition is open to all schools, community and youth groups across the UK. There are five individual age bands to choose from:
4-5, 5-7, 7-11, 11-14, 14-19, plus a mixed age group banner category, and it's just £2 per child to enter.
How it all works
- There will be one winner from each of the age groups (4-7, 7-14, 14-19) and an overall national winner will be chosen from these three. There is also a special award - The Mark Speight Award for Originality.
- Each school or youth organisation judges their own local competition and chooses the winner of each age category, plus the winning group banner entry.
- The organiser of each group then submits the winning entries into the National Competition by;
- sending colour photographs of the winning entries on CD, together with entry fees (for all competitors) and a completed , to The Young Pavement Artist Competition, Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, 61 Southwark Street London SE1 0HL.
- Entries will be judged by a panel of leading art, conservation and media experts.
- The National Awards ceremony will take place at the Royal Society in London on 15 July.
- The person crowned the 2010 Young Pavement Artist will win some fantastic prizes.
