Enter the competition

It’s easy to enter the Young Pavement Artists Competition – simply complete the online entry form and we’ll send you a competition pack.   

The competition is open to all schools, community and youth groups across the UK and overseas.  There are five individual age categories to choose from:  4-5, 5-7, 7-11, 11-14, 14-19, plus a mixed age group banner category, and it’s just £1 per child taking part.

How it all works

• There will be one overall national winner and this year there is a new special award – The Mark Speight Award for Originality
• Each school or youth organisation judges their own local competition and chooses the winner of each age category, plus the winning group banner entry
• The organisers take a photograph of the winning entries, together with entry fees of all competitors, and send to the national competition by June 13 2009
• Entries will be judged by a panel of leading art, conservation and media experts
• The national wards ceremony will take place at the Natural History Museum in July 2009
• The person crowned the 2009 Young Pavement Artist wins an amazing family expedition to watch the grey whale migration in Canada
