Digital photography guide

All photographs for entry into the National Competition should be submitted in a digital format by 25 June 2010.

If you are using a film camera

  • When you take your film to be developed, ask the store to burn the images onto a CD for you – this will give you the best quality digital images.
  • If by any chance the store cannot provide a disk of your photos, have the photos printed and then scan the images onto your computer.

If you are using a digital camera

  • Download your images onto a computer.
  • Save your image files to either the desktop or burn them onto a CD.

It’s a good idea to keep your own copy of all the photos you take.

Things to consider:

  • Take as many photographs as you can – it’s always best to have a range to choose from.
  • Think about the best time of day i.e. position of the sun, weather etc to ensure that you get the best possible photo of the participants’ work.

Important information:

  • Photos must be submitted in colour. Black and white photos will not be accepted.
  • Please only send one photograph of each winner’s pavement art.
The pavement art should fill the entire photograph – please ensure that you take a close up of the art.
  • We recommend that a digital camera with at least 3000 pixels is used to ensure good quality prints.
  • Please ensure the image is submitted in either a JPEG or GIF format.
