Friday 2 July 2010
Entries to the Young Pavement Artists Competition, which raises awareness and funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, were judged on Thursday 1 July and the talented winners have been selected.
With an impressive number of entries it was a tough job to shortlist and an even tougher job to pick the winners.
Thank you to the judges who spent a hot afternoon deliberating over who should be crowned our Young Pavement Artist of 2010. The panel were really impressed by the standard of drawings this year.
“The kids have interpreted the theme ‘Strength in Nature’ in very imaginative ways and have created some outstanding and exciting pavement art. When judging the entries we looked not only for artistic ability, but also creativity and originality.”
Lauren Jarvis, Editor of National Geographic Kids magazine.
The winners and runner ups will be announced very soon and are invited to attend a fabulous awards ceremony at the Royal Society in London on 15 July, where they will be presented with their well deserved prizes.
The overall winner will also see their drawing produced as a poster in the National Geographic Kids magazine.
